Joining PEI means joining a group of professional Pilates teacher training studios with quality teacher training programs.

PEI Affiliates are any Pilates teacher training programs that use our curriculum in their program. Because PEI is recognized by the NPCP as fulfilling every requirement for a student teacher to take the NCPT exam, being a PEI affiliate means your students are poised to earn an NPCP Certificate that proves their expertise. As an affiliate, you are using a curriculum recognized by the PMA as well, an organization that we encourage our members to join because it supports the Pilates community and has done so for years.

Fulfilling the requirements for taking the NCPT exam is a rigorous task. At PEI, our curriculum provides:

• Updated, modern assessments
• All necessary exercise guides with detailed exercise explanations
• All of the required texts that support scope of practice, code of ethics, and Pilates philosophy
• Explanation of Pilates equipment
• Anatomy
• Precautions and contraindications
• Training on how to teach a class
• Forms and documents 

This content goes above and beyond in preparing your student teachers to take the NCPT exam and start their career as a Pilates instructor.

There is no single, overarching, governing body of Pilates. We support the PMA and strongly believe that passing the NCPT exam is a sign of a high quality instructor. We also know that joining the PMA or passing the NCPT is not a national or international requirement to be a Pilates instructor. 

Our program allows you to provide your student teachers with a Certificate of Completion at the end of their course. This is your way of supporting your student teachers in proving that they’ve completed a rigorous, quality teacher training program and moving to a fulfilling career as a Pilates instructor. Your Certificate of Completion may be used by your student teachers to show potential employers their skill level. It also enhances your brand and establishes your school as a unique learning center for teaching the Pilates Method.
